Physical Features of Nevada
Nevada is known for its arid desert landscape, rugged mountain ranges, and vast basins. Much of the state lies within the Basin and Range Province, where parallel mountain ranges and valleys stretch across the region. The Sierra Nevada mountains rise along the western border, creating sharp elevation changes. Nevada also features desert plains, salt flats, and dry lake beds, with limited water sources such as the Colorado River and a few large lakes, giving it a distinctly dry and rugged terrain.
